GETTING STARTED
askit Level One, Whole School Training
2 days training for up to 22 participants in a host school
This practical two day course introduces the askit approach to developing communities of enquiry. Based on P4C this approach is proven to raise attainment, improve pupil's social, emotional and behavioural development and enables children to be at the centre of their learning.
Participants will:
- Be shown how to use P4C immediately in their own classroom
- Participate in enquiries to experience the P4C process
- Develop the skills of facilitation and questioning
- Gain SAPERE Level 1 qualification in askit
The cost includes:
- SAPERE validation and an askit certificate
- askit level 1 handbooks, 10 copies supplied (extra copies as required will be chargeable. A price list is available at the time of booking.)
- Open Futures askit resources folder
- Annual online personal consultancy with our askit specialist, Open Futures Curriculum Advisers and introductory support services from growit, cookit, filmit as well as extended access to teaching resources and training materials
Notes:
The minimum number of participants is 15, maximum of 22 participants.
The School will need to provide:
- a suitable room with adult chairs and A/V equipment
- refreshments for participants for the two days

A 2 day course for teachers in an external venue
This includes:
- SAPERE validation, and an askit certificate
- askit level 1 handbook
- Annual online personal consultancy with our askit specialist, Open Futures Curriculum Advisers and introductory support services from growit, cookit, filmit as well as extended access to teaching resources and training materials
Notes:
For a course to run the minimum number of participants required is 10 (maximum of 22 participants). Teachers would be responsible for travel and overnight accommodation if required.

SUPPORT DAYS AND TWILIGHTS
P4C to askit conversion
A whole school half day INSET or twilight session introducing the Open Futures approach to learning and teaching
Designed for schools who have already experienced P4C Level One in the past. The training will place P4C in the context of Open Futures to encourage whole school engagement with the programme.
This includes:
- Half day INSET or 2 hour twilight session - for all staff
- askit level 1 handbook, 2 copies (extra copies as required will be chargeable. A price list is available at the time of booking.)
Total £500
Supported in school practice day
Designed for schools who have already experienced level 1 or 2 training who wish to further develop askit.
One day in school training which could include the following sessions:
- planning sessions
- demonstration enquiry lessons with classes or groups of children
- co-facilitated enquiry lessons with classes or groups of children
- feedback and review discussions
- developing mentoring skills
The content and format of the day is agreed between the school and askit consultant as school requirements will differ.

Developing askit practice day course
1 days training for up to 22 participants in a host school

- One day in school training based on the first day of the level 1+ course
